About Our Cookies

Thank you so much for visiting! Here at The Iced Pelican we believe life should be as sweet as possible! We hope that our cookies help make your day and event extra special. Our sugar cookies and icings are made entirely from scratch using high quality ingredients including flour, sugars, extracts and emulsions. Everything we make is produced by hand. We hand roll, cut and bake the dough and then mix our royal icing using meringue powder, confectioners sugar, extracts and flavorings. A lot of time and attention to detail go into every order to bring you the very best and sweetest cookie possible. Usually a cookie set can take 2-3 days to produce. Most of our cookies are at least 3"-4" in size and are cut 3/4" thick to give you a great cookie-to-icing ratio to maximize and balance the flavors of the dough with the icing.

Our Cookie Prices
The prices of our cookies will depend on the size and degree of detail required. Some of our cookie sets have only one layer of icing foundation and air brush details while others have multiple layers and decorative icing details and embellishments which require more time to create. Most decorated sugar cookies will start at $45 per dozen with a minimum order of 2 dozen (can be multiple shapes in the order). More accurate pricing can be given when your order is quoted.

Pencil Me In Program
Do you have an upcoming event that you want to get custom decorated sugar cookies for but you are unsure of exactly what you need?
The Iced Pelican has a “Pencil Me In” program to save space on Susan’s cookie calendar. Give us the approximate date you need your cookies, the approximate amount of cookies, and one month before the event Susan will call you to finalize your order. We typically book out two weeks to a month in advance, the sooner you pencil in, the better. Even a year from now is perfectly fine to mark down.
Penciling in is free. If you decide to change the order, amount, or date, no problem. With about a month’s notice, almost anything is possible. Once your details are finalized, you simply pay for your cookies and prepare to be delighted a couple days before your event with Susan’s creations.
From Quote to Delivery and Beyond...
Once you send us a quote request we will review your request and go over your preferences and get a quote to you within a couple days. Once that quote is approved and an order is placed, turn around time can be anywhere from 2-3 weeks. Once your order is complete we package each cookie in a heat sealed bag and then place the cookies in a box for delivery or pick up. Your cookies will last for approximately 4-6 weeks once heat sealed. You can freeze the cookies upon delivery. Keep the cookies in their heat sealed bag and place them carefully in an air-tight container with the lid secure. Frozen sugar cookies can last for approximately 6 months. To defrost the cookies simply remove the container from the freezer and place it on the counter. Keep the container sealed and allow it to come to room temperature completely before opening the container. If the container is opened before everything has completely reached room temperature, condensation will form which will ruin the icing.
Cookie Decorating Classes
We are offering cookie decorating classes that have a different theme each month. These classes are a lot of fun. You don't have to have any experience with decorating cookies at all! I will walk you through step by step! We will decorate about 6 cookies and I will provide everything we need to accomplish the entire set. I will provide hands-on instructions that anyone will be able to follow! You will be so amazed at what you can do! At the end of the class you will get to take home your creations to enjoy. You will also have the opportunity to purchase a DIY kit of the same cookies we decorated in class (along with the icing and any embellishments we used in class) to take home and practice again!

Monthly Subscription Boxes
We are also offering monthly subscription boxes for each of the monthly cookie decorating class sets you see above. This option allows you to have some fun with cookie decorating even if you aren't able to make a class! You will receive a monthly box which will include 6 cookies, the ready-to-use icing to decorate them and any applicable embellishments (sprinkles, sugar transfers, etc.) for that design set. You will receive a cookie playlist showing you exactly how to decorate the cookies step by step with pictures. There is no skill level required for these sets - just the desire to have fun!
This subscription box cost $30 plus shipping (can only ship within Louisiana). If you are local to me I will hold a pick-up pop-up location if you would like to pick up your subscription boxes. Payment is due by the 5th of each month and orders will ship out by the 10th of each month. There are no rules here so if you don't want to continue your monthly subscription or just want to take some time off, just send me an email to let me know.
